đ° SHOCKING: Fair Cityâs Rachel Wren Reportedly âSlappedâ by Overexcited Fan in London Street Chaos
Fair City star Rachel Wren had a fantastic encounter with a fan of the show while on holiday in New York.
The actress, who plays Carrigstown’s Ruby Mullen, had her voice recognised at a comedy gig in the big apple – and she was also gifted a sticker of Mick Nolan, who plays Ray O’Connell, while in London, showing just how popular the soap opera is abroad.
She also revealed that if she could bring back any former show star, Barry Keoghan would be her dream choice.
Rachel told RSVP Live: “I was in New York watching a comedy gig and someone heard the Irish accent so they came over to me. They said, âI am so sorry, are you Irish?â I said that I was and then they asked if I was on Fair City.
“No way did someone in New York recognise me, I thought it was crazy.
“I was in London last month and someone handed me a sticker of Mick Nolan, who plays Ray. Being recognised outside of Ireland was something I didnât expect.”
Rachel was front and centre last month as she teamed up with George McMahon, who plays Mondo, for the launch of Lidl in Carrigstown.
She said; “It was exciting for Ruby to have her own storyline because a lot of time she is just involved in other peopleâs drama, like with her parents or what is going on with Jess.
“It is nice to see Ruby outside of her own dynamic and her family dynamic.
“She is flirty and feisty. I am looking forward to seeing where Lorcan and Ruby go.”
Rachel wants more exciting storylines going forward.
She said: “I would love to see Gwen and Ruby team up for some shenanigans. I think those characters would have so much fun together.
“Ruby idolises Gwen and she wants to be cool around her.
“I think she would get into loads of trouble. I loved the Gwen and Zak Dillon with the diamond.”
Fair City brought back a number of familiar faces for the 35th anniversary last September and a certain Hollywood star is top of Rachel’s list.
She said: “For the PR of it all, bring back Barry Keoghan. He would bring all of his fandom with him.”
