Drag Race’s Lexi Love claps backs at Violet Chachki following season 17 ‘garbage’ dig

RuPaul’s Drag Race finalist Lexi Love has clapped back at season 7 winner Violet Chachki, after the latter called season 17 ‘garbage’.

The girls are fighting!

Despite Lexi Love’s recent indefinite step back from drag, it seems that her hiatus does not include refraining from dragging people who cross her – most recently, season 7 winner Violet Chachki.

Violet, who took the crown on the season ten prior to Love’s in 2015, was asked about what she thought of the recently concluded seventeenth instalment of the flagship franchise – and she didn’t have glowing reviews.

“I literally have no clue [if anyone served on season 17],” she told Pride at the grand opening of The Tryst Puerto Vallarta. “I don’t watch, oh no no no. My brain is full of things already. I need to make space in my brain for things I care about.

“And [Gott]Mik keeps showing me clips and videos of things, and I go, ‘Stop showing me this garbage.’ I go, ‘Stop showing it to me!’ My brain is full, I need to save the space I have for sacred things.”

Unsurprisingly, Violet’s comments have not gone down too well with Lexi, who made it all the way to season 17’s top four, just losing out on the chance to lip-sync for the crown to Jewels Sparkles and newly crowned Drag Race winner Onya Nurve.

Replying to a tweet from reporter Ricky Cornish, who conducted the original interview, Lexi wrote, “What a c*nt,” alongside an eye-roll emoji. Tell us how you really feel, Lexi.

The double challenge winner recently told her fans and followers that she was taking a “step back” from drag  in order to “transform [her] relationship with [her] inner saboteur.”

“I’m taking a step back to nurture my mental, physical, and emotional well-being. It’s time to transform my relationship with my inner saboteur — to understand it, disarm it, and step fully into my strength,” Lexi wrote in a statement posted to her socials.

Though season 17 of RuPaul’s Drag Race has finished, its available to stream in its entirety on WOW Presents Plus – and All Stars 10 will be available to stream on Paramount+ in the US and WOW Presents Plus internationally from 9 May.
