In January, the world mourned the loss of The Vivienne after they tragically passed away at the tender age of 32. The larger than life reality TV star, famed for their stint on Drag Race UK, would have turned 33 on April 12, and now, in a show of support fans rushed to social media to pay tribute.
Sharing a video clip of a podcast with the star, fellow Drag star Cheryl The Queen was one of the first of many to share their heartbreak.
The clip showed The Vivienne and Cheryl The Queen recalling their worst date experience. Alongside the clip, Cheryl The Queen wrote: “Happy Heavenly Birthday @thevivienne_ This clip always makes me smile with how much you cared! We miss you, we love you, we celebrate YOU!” This was accompanied with a red heart emoji.”
Another person wrote: “Words can’t describe What an absolute awful tragic loss to such a darling true down to earth beautiful soul. Rest and celebrate in peace Viv xx” A third person penned: “Love this clip.”

Meanwhile a fourth commented: “Happy heavenly birthday to Queen Viv (Also, that anecdote was hilarious and kind of terrifying at the same time!).” “Oh Viv! We love you and miss you so much. Rest gently,” wrote a fifth. And a sixth person said: “Happy Heavenly Birthday Viv miss you everyday! Xoxox.”
On January 5, it was announced that The Vivienne had passed away at their home. The TV star, whose real name was James Lee Williams left family and friends devastated.
At the time, a vigil was arranged on the steps of St George’s Hall to celebrate their life alongside fellow Drag Race contestants and soap stars.
The buildings were illuminated in green, which was a nod to the performer’s role as the Wicked Witch of the West for the UK tour of The Wizard of Oz, last year.
Along with the illumination, balloons were released. A statement from The Vivienne’s family was read out by their friend Bobby Muskar. He said: “As a family we are completely overwhelmed by the outpouring of love for James, The Vivienne.”
He added: “From an early age it was evident he was destined for the stage… he was determined to pave his own way in this world.”
